Be Uniquely You
I have always focused on my own personal achievement, until I was made the unofficial leader of a team of 8. This was my first real experience with leadership, and I quickly learned I was alone, a lot. My team was caring, thoughtful, and the best bunch of people I could ever work with. But as a team, we weren’t overly profitable. I was overworked and felt alone. Was work the only thing that mattered? It was time for a change.
Our team was introduced to CliftonStrengths. This began a great transformation. I learned that my strengths and the strengths of my team were drastically different. To my surprise, different is a great thing! Through the help of a Gallup-Certified strengths coach, I began to understand my unique contribution. I was able to set clear expectations, understand the limitations of my team, and more importantly, where they were full of talents that I lacked. Working intentionally together, our team was unstoppable!
Focusing on our strengths, working together, we were in flow. We were happier and more profitable. Learning about my strengths and the strengths of my team transformed my work and my life.
